PLEASE NOTE  HOMESCHOOL TEST SERVICE HAS BECOME:

HOMESCHOOL TESTING SERVICES!

A Note From Val Howard:

Homeschool Test Service has now become Homeschool Testing Services, Inc., a part of Classical Conversations, Inc. located in North Carolina and begun over 10 years ago by my good friend, Leigh Bortins.  Homeschool Testing Services, Inc. will basically provide the same service to Washington homeschooling families as HTS has done for the past 25 years.  They will be offering the new, updated 10th edition of the Stanford Achievement Test for this spring’s testing season; many of you have been asking when the SAT 10 would be available and now it will be.

The only real difference you will see is that ALL registration will be online through Homeschool Testing Services, Inc.; registration will not be done through your local test coordinator as it has been done in the past.  For most of you, this will be a blessing!  But, if there are any families who can not register online, please contact your local test coordinator and she will work with you to ensure that your children will be tested as in the past.  As always, registration will begin in January.

On a personal note:  I am REALLY going to miss operating HTS, working with the fantastic HTS test coordinators, and seeing and, of course, chatting with all the wonderful families and children at each test site. You all have been such a blessing to me and this change has not occurred with out much prayer and consideration.  But, God is partially closing the homeschooling chapter of my life and moving me in another direction. I am not completely sure what the next phase of my life holds, but I do know it will involve quite a bit of international travel with my husband.  Our daughter, Alison, is married and living in Honduras.  Our son, Stephen, is teaching English at a university in SW China and has no plans to return permanently to the US in the near future. Never did I think 25+ years ago when I began my homeschooling journey that we would be using John’s accrued air miles to visit our children on two different continents!!

I do, however, plan to continue offering my Testing Time presentations to co-ops or support groups as well as doing the WHO sponsored Alternative Education vs Homeschooling presentations with Janice Hedin.  It is too hard for me to completely close this chapter of my life!  J   I am keeping my hstest@aol.com email address if you want or need to contact me.

Blessings on each and every one of you,

val
